The principle is simple: your data is yours. Shifty has no servers, no accounts, and the developer has no access to your data — everything stays on your device and in your private iCloud.
Shifts, tips, pay data, workplaces, and settings — everything you enter in the app is stored on the device itself. No data is ever sent to the developer or to any third party.
When iCloud sync is turned on, your data is stored in the private database of your own iCloud account. That is Apple infrastructure, governed by Apple's privacy policy. The developer of Shifty has no access to this data and no way to read it.
Automatic backups are saved to the Shifty folder in your own iCloud Drive, and are accessible only to you as the account owner. CSV exports are saved wherever you choose to save them.
Calendar — used only to sync your shifts to the iOS calendar, if you enable that feature.
Notifications — used only for shift reminders.
Both permissions are optional and can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings. The app keeps working without them.
No analytics, no ads, no tracking, no user accounts, and no third-party SDKs. The app is fully functional offline.
Deleting the app removes the data from your device. iCloud data can be removed via iOS Settings ▸ Apple ID ▸ iCloud ▸ Manage Storage.
